The Organic Vapor Cartridge Respirator combines a thermoplastic elastomer facepiece with dual activated carbon filters to adsorb organic solvents and volatile gases in industrial environments. Featuring low-resistance inhalation valves and an adjustable four-point harness, this reusable half-mask respirator provides reliable facial sealing and reduces breathing fatigue during extended operational shifts.
Key Features
Dual Bayonet Locking Interface
Quarter-turn connection design ensures quick filter replacement and secure airtight alignment.
Silicone Exhalation Diaphragm
Downward-venting valve cover directs exhaled breath and moisture away from the facepiece interior.
DConforming TPE Facial Seal
Flexible elastomer flange adapts smoothly to diverse facial contours without pressure points.
High-Activity Carbon Bed
Porous granular activated carbon absorbs organic vapors and solvent fumes effectively.
Four-Point Head Harness
Woven elastic straps and balanced crown distribution maintain stable sealing tension during movement.
Design & Components
Molded from non-irritating thermoplastic elastomer with a deep chin cup to prevent slippage.
Protected downward-directed exhalation port shields internal components from overspray.
High-impact ABS outer shells containing packed activated carbon granules.
Crown strap coupled with elastic bands and quick-release tension buckles.

Applications & Limitations
Applications
- Industrial Painting & Refinishing: Spraying solvent-based paints, lacquers, and polyurethane coatings.
- Chemical Blending: Handling, mixing, and transferring organic solvents and resins.
- Parts Degreasing: Cleaning components using hydrocarbon or ketone solvents.
- Adhesive Application: Working with solvent-based glues and sealants.
Limitations
- Do not use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen.
- Do not use in immediately dangerous to life or health atmospheres.
- Do not use against airborne particulate hazards without attaching an appropriate pre-filter.
- Do not use for gases with poor warning properties or low boiling points.

Use & Maintenance
Pre-Operational Inspection
Inspect the TPE flange for cracks or distortion. Ensure inhalation and exhalation valve diaphragms lie flat without debris or warping. Verify that bayonet gaskets are intact and properly seated.
Seal Verification
- Negative Pressure Check: Cover cartridge inlets with palms and inhale gently. The facepiece should draw slightly inward and maintain vacuum pressure without peripheral leakage.
- Positive Pressure Check: Cover the exhalation valve opening and exhale gently. The facepiece should inflate slightly without air escaping past the facial seal.
Cleaning & Storage
Remove chemical cartridges prior to cleaning. Hand-wash the facepiece in warm water using a mild neutral detergent. Air-dry in a clean environment away from direct sunlight and heat. Store the dry unit in a sealed container away from chemical vapors.
